Hearthline

One shared, permissioned timeline for every professional. Presented the way every JDG project is: problem first, thinking visible, status honest.

Prototype

The Problem

A home closing involves loan officers, insurance agents, title companies, and escrow, each with their own emails, portals, and status updates. Buyers lose the plot; professionals burn hours re-explaining status; and the mistakes hide in the handoffs between parties.

What I Noticed

Every existing tool serves one professional and treats everyone else, including the buyer, as an external party to notify. Nobody owns the whole picture, so the person with the most at stake has the least visibility. The insight: design around the consumer, and the professionals benefit too.

The Opportunity

One shared closing where the buyer sees qualification (including combined co-borrower scenarios) in plain language, every professional works the same permissioned timeline, and everyone can see what’s done, what’s blocked, and who owes what. Success looks like fewer status calls and no surprise delays.

What I Designed

A consumer-first platform: co-borrower combined qualification modeling, a role-permissioned shared timeline, document collection with milestone tracking, and plain-language explanations at every step, no industry jargon between the buyer and their own purchase.
